Today's Agenda

I did some great colors today! One client chose a vibrant red and it came out wonderful!! I really had a wonderful day! I did a cute cut on Carol Brady...I guess I always have a good day when I make other people happy.

On another note I wanted to let everyone know that Joel goes in for his Lap-Band surgery on Friday so cross your fingers for him! He is really excited...

URGHH!! I was right about the DNS thingy

Ok,

So now I have to test this and see if I can post to the blog because as I thought, once the blog was working, the website would not. I could only get to it by typing http://xtremzsalon.com and not http://www.xtremzsalon.com. It had to do with this thing called TOTAL DNS in Godaddy. But it was Blogger's fault because I had to do it to allow it to find my FTP and let me choose custom FTP hosting instead of them.

This is all just too crazy for me. I hope this post goes through and if it does, WHO CARES?!? It will all be working :)

Welcom to Xtremz Hair Salon's New Blog!!!

Well I am too excited to have this blog up!! If you read the first blog I did, then you know for sure that it was no easy process. I can assure you that patience, and a little determination is needed to accomplish this.

Our next few posts will be about hair stuff, and nail stuff, and waxing this and that, and permanent makeup, and all the stuff the ladies at Xtremz do, but this first blog is mine! (jason)

So I want to take this time to right a wrong by Godaddy and Google(Blogger but Google owns them now). First off , if your hosting service has IIS 6.0, you cannot add an FTP user. So if you don't know your FTP information but you can log into your Godaddy account, you STILL have to call!?! Haven't those people ever heard of "RESET PASSWORD" screens. The simple solution would be to have a new icon under the "SETTINGS" tab for FTP USERS. Obviously you should be able to see your FTP username under that, and then your password should be masked, but it should have a reset button....DURRRRRRR!!!! Bob Parsons and Godaddy are rip off artists. I agree their services are the cheapest, but you have to watch your back at every turn or they will try to upsale you, over bill you, and profit off you. It is much like getting your web services from "SLICK RICK" the used cars salesman in Patuka, NY or something.....

OK, now for Blogger! Well, this kind of goes back to godaddy too, but anyone creating a blog in the future head this warning! If you have Windows hosting on your server and you set up a blog to be hosted on your site you will have to fill out your FTP information. A real pest IMO, and you will more specifically be matched up with this "FTP PATH" field. You will get beaten up trying to find it because it is not written, or accessible in your file or whatever. The path is this /ftpusername/subdomainname/ . For example, if your username is "JOESCHMOE" and your site name is EGGS.COM but you are posting to the subdomain "SCRAMBLED" then the "FTP PATH" is going to be:
/JOESCHMOE/SCRAMBLED/. It is case sensitive and the syntax has to be 100% correct.

Now I have to get off here and write an article about this in forums that are tech related so that thousands of people that try to post blogs each day can get proper support relating to Google. GoDaddy, and Blogger.

Hope you guys enjoyed this rant and I also hope you have a great weekend! I am excited about it because my fantasy football team looks great and I am looking to move 1 step closer to the playoffs! Anyways...Cya

I hate Blogger

Between Blogger, Google, and Godaddy, I would say they all make it more discouraging than ever to add a Blog to your website. I have to add this CNAME stuff, and then I had to change the ftp settings, but it isnt asking me for them. HOE HUM...

So anyways, I am expecting the CNAME thing to crash my site. It used to be easy where I would just add the blog as a folder and it would become a part of my site. Hey BLOGGER, did you ever think people would want to have a website and the blog be supplimental, not the whole site!

If this blog messes up my site I am going to start cussing out everyone's support agents I talk to because this whole process is ridiculous. You could easily host it on their site, BUT, then they get all your SEO and total control over your stuff.

Google and Blogger need to rethink how they integrate things, and GoDaddy is complete garbage. They prey on the unsuspecting and make things impossible so that you pay them for their extra services. I would not recommend Blogger to anyone, and I SURE AS HELL AM NOT RECOMMENDING GODADDY TO ANYONE ELSE!!!
